End of Life Care: Comparing the US,

UK, the Netherlands and Belgium

Presented by Dr. Terry Weiner

The talk will explore the attitudes of physicians towards death and dying, and new policies in Europe allowing euthanasia. The lecture will also examine whether assisted suicide should be available to people with mental illness, progressive diseases, and children.

Dr. Terry Weiner served as Provost at Russell Sage College until his retirement in 2015. He had a highly successful, 35-year academic career at Union College, including serving as Associate Dean of the Faculty, and Chair of the Department of Political Science. He received his PhD from UNC, Chapel Hill in political sociology. His primary area of research was health care policy.
